CONTRACT

I gave up my contract at GMED and worked through the Bank system

MITCHELL

Flew to Belfast and picked up a car.

Drove to Irvinestown where I had a room booked...then over to a farm nr Enniskillen where I met up with Danie van Hussteen & his daughter, Thalia & Wesley & all the children...7 of them

Took a drive over to the Republic & the coast at Bundoran & Ballyshannon. Lydia was with us. We had lunch & skirted Lough Erne again.

Micah, the eldest showed us around Enniskillen & I treated everyone to a roast lunch at the Airport restaurant.

It was snowing when I left for Belfast but dropped off the car & checked in all in time only to find the flight kept being delayed & then canceled because of weather. We were put on an Inverness flight and a taxi to ABZ...There we saw flights landing & taking off.

This is Logan Air...no more...It seems airlines are running their business to suit themselves.

GIRLIE

Charmaine was born when my beloved passed. She is delightful & naughty. Sadly Protea will not get on with her. Also she is very destructive.

She is in Broqel's old home...made very comfy. She has her own little hoosie outside when it rains

I love her and she brings great joy in my loneliness & sadness. Protea is now 16 and slowing a bit but always sleeps with her Daddy.

GLASGOW

A short trip to the city...stayed overnight and then a great train ride back

PORTUGAL

Flew to Porto via Amsterdam notwithstanding bird strikes & engineering failures with aircraft change.

Checked into the hotel right outside the Porto airport...Checked out the local area.

Took the metro train into the city...pretty. Then an old-styled tram up and down the river Douro front.

Arsenal were in town to play Porto, so a lot of rowdiness. Walked to the other side of the river & took a cab to the marina where I had a lovely river cruise...just me and the 2 sailors & white port to drink

Picked up my rental & drove north to Spain. Attractive countryside. Finally, I got to my accommodation in Baiona. Great little apartment on the mountainside.

Took a drive into Vigo & toured Baiona.

Drove back into Portugal & on to Viana do Castelo where I had a lovely apartment in a family home. They were so friendly & fed me too.

Toured this pretty town

Then back to Porto & home 

HOLLAND

Flew to Amsterdam & trained up to Enkhuizen, a beautiful small town on the ijselmeer.

I had been here before in the 80's and bought klompje...still have them.

My apartment was superb, overlooking port. The boats coming in and out were so intriguing. The folks were friendly of course

Toured the town. Took a cruise to Medemblik & then steam train to Hoorn...had great chat with conductor.

Met Pieter who ran a nearby bar.

Too soon it was time to go home

WHITBY

Booked a few days in Whiby...really looking forward to it, when guess who canceled...Logan Air

HERNIA
