WILD AND TAMED

Spent time with the Viljoens & Percis who were having security problems in Walkerville. They had been attacked & tied up but were rescued by a vigilant neighbourhood.

Smashed my thumb in a jammed window...cut to the bone...had cleaning & surgery down at local clinic.

Visited Durban & picked up Pam after which we flew to EL where we stayed with Rose Atterbury in Gonubie

Then a flight back to JNB.

I went to see Joe Kamish in PE as well as Kevin Golightly...stayed in a lovely apartment, but it was hot!

THE BAKKIE

Finally bought myself a pickup...a 2.5 Toyota Hi lux,long base, double cab.

I really liked this one.

Bought a canopy down in a Perth Scrappie.

GOODBYE OUR BOY

I was preparing for a shift when I looked out of the window to see Pepper lying dead next to the road.

We were both so upset...he was with only with us for 15 months & still so young.

Charmaine has not truly recoverd to this day. I struggled for weeks & grieve for him still.

We did not realize but Georgia went into depression & it was only when we brought Protea the following year into our lives that she perked up.

FATAL CRASH

On the penultimate day of the yr a woman took a bend too fast & skidded on ice into a field,rolling the car, very near our house

I grabbed my med. bag & ran down. There was a passing motorist who was a doc & we both went to work on the 2 unconscious casualties still trapped inside the car. The driver had crawled out. She was in shock.

Sadly the man passed away before the emergency services arrived. The lady was taken to hospital.The Fire Service had to construct a ladder bridge over a gully at the fence line.
